If you are in doubt whether or not summer has officially arrived, you should visit the South. Temperatures are already sweltering, and the air conditioners are humming. I’ve been contemplating the next few months and have realized that youth camps are in view, choir tour is around the bend, and a trip to San Antonio is just ahead. I might even squeeze in another visit to Nashville. The summer will end with a trip to New York City just on the brink of my first semester at ULM. What happened to the lazy days of summer? Yep…good ole summertime is here!
The Theresa Marsala Memorial Walk will be held Friday, May 21 at 9 a.m. at the Ouachita Council on Aging in Monroe, Louisiana. Theresa was the president of the Cancer Foundation League. This event is to commemorate her volunteer work and to keep the torch burning on behalf of this organization. Hayley will be singing the national anthem and will do an acoustic set accompanied by Thomas Culp and Cody Smith. Come on out and support this wonderful cause.
The Christian Homeschool Association of Northeast Louisiana will hold its commencement exercises Friday, May 7, 2010 at 7 p.m. at The Pentecostals of the Twin Cities in West Monroe, Louisiana. I have been home schooled for ten years, and now I’m FINALLY graduating! It has been quite a journey, and I have so many memories, such as driving all the way to Utah. Each time we crossed a state line, my mom would make my sister and me read about that state. I always looked forward to our “study retreats” to the beach where we would prepare for all those final exams we never took! On a serious note, my homeschool experience has taught me the value of learning without boundaries or handcuffs. Each adventure became a classroom and some of my greatest dreams have been nurtured, even have come to pass. Even though this chapter of my life is about to close, I look forward to what God has in store.

What a way to kickoff a gorgeous Saturday in Marion, Illinois with none other than Life Fest 2009!
Funnel cakes, sunshine, and God’s people all made for an incredible event! The band rocked out until we were all soaking wet from the rain. The folks at Life Church really know how to bring together community worship. We had an awesome time!
The lights were low, the crowd was thick, and the music was rockin’. And better than that, Jesus Christ was in the house. Last week was one of the highlights of my musical career. Not only did I have the opportunity to be a part of the worship team at the Louisiana District UPC Senior Youth camp under the direction of the very talented Johnathan Dean, but my band and I also opened for the Moments of Worship Tour with Jamie Jamgochain and Daniel Kirkley on Saturday night. God is still changing lives and healing hearts through the ministry of music!
The new year 2009 rolled in like a tidal wave at New Year’s Revolution sponsored by SLAM of the Pentecostals of the Twin Cities. And most appropriately, Hayley Masters was singing her way into 2009 along with her band playing “For Your Glory”…and this continues to be her lyrical message for the NEW YEAR.
This Revolution was tops as the Hayley Masters Band, Josh Thornhill’s band, and Fire and Salem ushered in the presence of Jehovah God and worshipped Jesus Christ into the wee hours of January 1, 2009. What an incredible awesome night of giving it all to our Lord and Saviour!
