In March... .the very first day of spring, I was invited to sing at the one and only Big Al's Winterfest! To say it was quite an experience is quite an understatement... lol. There was a huge amount of talent exhibited that night. Between the drill teams, youth choirs, and many, many other presentations, this was a wonderful night that will not be forgotten!

A few weeks ago, I was privileged to get to sing for the beautiful Mrs. Supriya Jindal. After she spoke I was able to actually meet her. It was so exciting! She is such a sweet lady, we are truly blessed to have such wonderful leaders, like the Jindals, governing our state.

At 1 o'clock in the afternoon, over 200 students and teachers began pouring into the Marion High School auditorium for the Hayley Masters concert. I had so much fun meeting so many of these students. They were one incredible audience, and we rocked out all afternoon!

Today, CD Baby posted rave reviews about the "Seasons of Change" CD by Hayley Masters and have added the project to their Editor's Picks! On Monday, January 12, 2009, CD Baby will feature the project on their homepage all day long. You can visit http://cdbaby.com/cd/hayleymasters to read the review and add your own review. You will also want to visit http://cdbaby.com Monday, January 12!

It's great to hear an original artist in the CCM genre who doesn't sound like everyone else. Hayley Masters knows how to write a catchy worship song, how to craft a melody, and she's got a great, distinctive singing voice that's pleasant and can be both soft and strong. The album features totally pro production; there's healthy dose of sonic beeps and boops while washy drum machines get songs like "Beautiful! Beautiful!" revved up. When that song really kicks in, there's a small gospel choir that accompanies the rocking piano-led ballad. Another nice touch is the unexpected chord changes on the chorus of songs like "Giving it All" and the chorus' vocal shift on "Sanctuary", which is reminiscent of Nicole Atkins' melodic sensibility. The Rhodes and organ-led soul help make "Redeem My Days" another winner; it's nice to hear her top-notch band get to lay back and groove. Little things like these make these singable songs infectious and engaging. As both a songwriter and a band leader, Hayley Masters is clearly a talent to be reckoned with. - CDBaby
